TRANSPORTATION & PARKING

Madison is the home to Dane County Regional Airport, with direct flights to many US cities and connecting flights to major airport hubs. There is city bus service from Dane County Regional Airport to downtown Madison and the campus via bus transfers. There is also bus service from Chicago O’Hare, Midway and Mitchell Field in Milwaukee. See the Coach bus panel below.

Madison is a walk-able city, with well traveled sidewalks and walking paths. Madison also has a B-Cycle program with several pick up and drop off locations near the Pyle Center. There is also a free campus bus that covers most of campus. Conference hotels have parking available. See the panels below for information on all the above.

B-Cycle

Madison B-cycle is an urban bike sharing program with over 35 active stations throughout the Madison area. If you are interested in renting a B-cycle, visit the Madison B-cycle website at http://madison.bcycle.com/.

There is a B-cycle station just outside of Memorial Union, near the corner of Langdon and Park St. There is another B-cycle station near the corner of Langdon St. and Lake St.

B-cycle offers a $6.00 Walk-Up pass for a 24 hour membership. Check out the website for details. B-cyle is a great way to get around campus and downtown Madison on shorter trips.

Coach bus service to Madison is available from Milwaukee, Chicago and Minneapolis. Please visit the carrier website for details:

  • Van Galder: Chicago O’Hare or Midway airports to Madison, approximately $60 round trip (stops across from Memorial Union)
  • Badger Bus: Milwaukee Airport (MKE) to Madison, approximately $50 round trip (stops across from Memorial Union)
  • Megabus: Departs near Target Field to Madison, approximately $80 round trip (stops across from Memorial Union)
